Translation Specialisations:
One of my first translation projects had to do with travel and tourism.
I found the subject very interesting and started to specialise in it.
Now I translate everything from hotel web sites, travelling guides, web
sites of foreign countries to brochures and any other tourism and
travel related subjects.
I come from a marketing background, having forged out a career as
events organiser and in telemarketing. Very appropriately as second
specialised subject I translate everything from consumer questionnaires
(and their answers) to company web sites, advertisements and also do copy-writing.
This is a personal passion of mine and subject of high interest, backed
up by various reference books. Translations include fabrics, clothes,
fashion, shoes and outdoor wear.
As a translator familiarity with computer and software environment is
crucial and part of any translator's tool. I have completed
course equivalents to web programming and design courses as well as
general and specialised Internet knowledge (including search
techniques) and, following that, started translating IT related
projects, including software manuals and localizations.
